AFLAS Outstanding Achievement Award

The Asian Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations (AFLAS) has established this special award to recognise outstanding contributions made by professionals in the field of laboratory animal science in Asia.

Scientists or technical experts who have made outstanding contributions to basic research, applied research, and promoting technological advancements in laboratory animal science are welcome to apply. This includes significant innovation or contributions in fields such as laboratory animal science research, technology development, education and training, welfare and ethics, alternative methods, and science popularisation. Recipients should have a significant academic impact in Asia and beyond.

The application is open to  new and existing LASAM members. The successful winner will receive a certificate and USD1200 (subject to changes), presented at the 10th AFLAS Congress, at Hangzhou Platinum Hotel, Zhejiang, China on October 21-23, 2025.

Deadline for documents and nomination form Submission: 15 May 2024.

Review Process

Stage 1: Review by the Scientific Committee of the Laboratory Animal Science Association of Malaysia (LASAM).

a) Nomination form and supporting documents (publications, monographs, citations, research achievements, award certificates, patents, and a scanned PDF copy of passport) are sent to LASAM Secretary at lasam.secretary@gmail.com before 14 Mei 2025

b) Review by the scientific committee of LASAM: 15 May 2025 – 31 May 2025

c) Corrections/amendments by the authors: 1 – 7 June 2025          

Stage 2: Review by AFLAS Secretariat.

a) The complete nomination form and all supporting documents will be submitted to AFLAS Secretariat at calas-int@calas.org.cn through LASAM on 13 June 2025. No individual applications are accepted.

b) AFLAS Executive Committee shall finalise TWO (2) award recipients among nominees of affiliated member associations of AFLAS.
